Figure 12 shows: SPECI KJFK 121853Z 18004KT 1/2SM FG R04/2200 OVC005 20/18 A3006. The report is labeled "SPECI" rather than "METAR." What does that indicate, and what does "R04/2200" mean?
Why: The Remote Pilot Study Guide distinguishes the two METAR report types: the routine METAR and the SPECI, a special report that can be issued at any time to update conditions for rapidly changing weather. It also defines the RVR group — an "R," the runway number, a slash, then the visual range in feet — so R04/2200 is a 2,200-foot visual range on Runway 4.
Invents an airport-specific meaning for SPECI and misreads the RVR group as a wind entry, when wind is already reported earlier in the line (18004KT).
Confuses SPECI with the separate "COR" (corrected report) modifier, and misreads the RVR group as a runway-closure notation rather than a visibility distance.
