Figure 25 marks Point 5 directly over Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW), inside the innermost ring of Class B airspace charted "110/SFC." Before operating a small UA at Point 5, a remote pilot must —

Why: 14 CFR § 107.41 requires ATC authorization before operating a small unmanned aircraft in Class B airspace, and Point 5 sits in the innermost Class B shelf over DFW, charted "110/SFC" (surface up to 11,000 feet MSL).

  • Invents an exemption for the airspace over a primary airport that § 107.41 does not provide — Class B authorization applies there the same as anywhere else inside the Class B boundary.
  • Confuses airport-operator notification, which part 107 doesn't require for this kind of airspace, with the ATC authorization § 107.41 actually requires.
