Current-Sectional Chart Drill
26 questions read off current FAA VFR sectional charts — the image source the Part 107 test started drawing from on October 26, 2026, separate from the printed testing supplement.
These are our own questions, not actual FAA test questions. The FAA keeps the images used in active test questions confidential and never publishes them, so no practice site — including this one — can offer real FAA test questions for the image-based chart format. Two questions in this set are the exception: the FAA's own two published worked examples (Millville Muni and Grand Canyon Ntl Park), used here with their official images and wording. Every other question is written by this site from a current, real FAA sectional chart excerpt, each citing its exact chart name and edition date.
Question 1 of 26
What type of airspace is associated with MILLVILLE MUNI (MIV) and is ATC authorization required to operate a small UA there?
Why: This is one of the FAA's own two published sample questions for the October 2026 image-based test format, using this exact chart excerpt. Millville Muni sits in Class E airspace designated as a surface area (shown by the dashed magenta circle on the chart). Operating a small UA there requires prior ATC authorization, the same as for Class B, C, D, or a Class E surface area, because § 107.41 requires authorization in any controlled airspace.
- Class G is uncontrolled airspace and, by definition, has no operating control tower — the two facts in this option contradict each other and neither matches MIV.
- Invents a Class B/Class D relationship that doesn't exist in controlled airspace design, and wrongly claims authorization isn't required — any controlled airspace, including a Class E surface area like MIV's, requires authorization under § 107.41.
